Abstract

OBJECTIVE According to the Cochrane system evaluation method to evaluate the efficacy, safety and pharmaco-economics of amlodipine and nitrendipine in the treatment of hypertension and provide evidence for the selection of essential drugs.METHODS A comprehensive literature search on randomized controlled trials of using amlodipine and nitrendipine to treat hypertension and documents of pharmacoeconomics, using the Cochrane provided RevMan5.0software,were statistically analyzed.RESULTS In this study,15 randomized controlled trials about efficacy were finally included, the results of the combined analysis showed that the total effective rate of amlodipine was higher than that of nitrendipine in treating hypertension, and the difference was statistically significant[OR=2.05,95%CI(1.54,2.74),P0.01].There were 13 randomized controlled trials about safety, the combined test indicated that in amlodipine group the untoward reaction rate was lower than that in the nitrendipine group[OR=0.52,95%CI(0.40,0.69),P0.01].Pharmacoeconomic analysis showed that,in the aspect of lowering blood pressures, amlodipine was more economical and reasonable than the nitrendipine.CONCLUSION The current available results showed that in lowering blood pressure, amlodipine is better than the nitrendipine in the cost and effect.
