Language Views of Taoism and Zen and the Birth of Chinese Poetic Spirit

In the history of Chinese philosophy,there are Taoism and Zen which make notable theoretical contribution into the relation between language and truth.The silence is the most sacred choice because we can not say what is Tao or Buddha.In the meantime,they try to find other ways to speak the truth,such as transcendent language,natural language,and image or corporal actions as symbols,although the being is still a secret to man.It goes to show that the ways what the Taoist and Chan master provide can not give us scientific truth,but only a poetic illusion of the world,and hence the poetic spirit is the basis to Chinese philosophy.
