Abstract

The design of a decision support system (DSS) addressing usage, maintenance, recycling management along product lifecycle is a challenging task which is the basis for the development of the DSS itself. Seizing the chance offered by a EU-funded project which explores innovation in lifecycle management, the DSS general model was conceptualised for each lifecycle phase. In this paper we present and propose part of the DSS model for Middle-of-life and in particular for maintenance management. In this case the Promise-DSS model represents the backbone of an innovative approach for the optimisation of maintenance interventions on many different kind of products. The new maintenance system collects information and create knowledge to add value to the whole lifecycle integrating different actors.
