Abstract

Objective To investigate the antioxidant material basis of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.by comparing the free radical scavenging activities of stilbene glycosides,anthraquinones and polysaccharides.Methods The stilbene glycosides,anthraquinones and polysaccharides were purified by solvent extraction and column chromatographies,and their scavenging capacity of free radicals were compared by DPPH radical scavenging experiments.Results The IC50of the stilbene glycosides,anthraquinones and polysaccharides were 1.42,2.67 and 360 mg/mL(equivalent to crude drug content),respectively.Conclusion Stilbene glycosides and anthraquinones were the main active components on DPPH radical scavenging.While polysaccharide showed weak effect.
