Abstract
There is a great difference between Chinese and Western painting theories owing to different philosophy and aesthetic systems.The traditional Chinese philosophy that humanity is harmonious with makes the Chinese paintings focuse on expressing the painters' subjective spirits,and intends to the lively artistic effect.Western painting follows the philosophy of human being in nature and adopts scientific and artistic method combining shaping objects and pursuing real objective image.Through comparative study,this paper helps appreciators and artists to use different artistic conception and methods to create and appreciate different national arts,and get different thoughts enlightenment and aesthetic enjoyment.
