Abstract
Objectives: To understand the awareness of patient safety culture among staff nurses, the level of their acceptance of patient safety-related education and the status of implementation; to explore if there is a need for nurses to have patient-safety training. Methods: A convenience sample of 193 nurses involved in the questionnaire survey. Results: The awareness level of safety culture was relatively high among staff nurses, but their acceptance and implementation of safety-related education were at medium level among the overall scores. The majority (67%) of nurses believed that it is necessary for nursing staff to attend safety-related training. Conclusion: Health care facilities should provide patient safety training course for staff nurses to improve patient safety and raise the awareness of patient safety culture.
