Abstract
The effect of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) on ethylene production, fruit firmness, titratable acid and total soluble solids of kiwifruit cultivar “Qinmei” was studied during storage at room temperature and 0℃. The results showed that the 100 nL·L -1 1-MCP treatment significantly inhibited ethylene (C 2H 4) production, delayed the ethylene peak and slowed down the decrease in the fruit firmness and titratable acid, and total soluble solids in fruit were increased.
