Abstract

Objective To study the relations between the level of serum interleukin-18(IL-18) and acute coronary syndrome(ACS) and its clinical significance. Methods 26 patients with AMI, 23 patients with UAP, 21 patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP), and 18 health persons were studied. The concentration of serum interleukin-6(IL-6) was measured with radioimmunoassay, while Interleukin-18 with ELISA. Results The levels of sereum IL-6,18 in patients with ACS were significantly higher than that with SAP and health persons respectively and also were excellent negative linear correlation with EF. And IL-18 was pretty positive linear correlation with IL-6. Conclusion The concentration of serum IL-18 like IL-6 can reflect the severity and unstable status of the plague. So it can be clinically applied to monitor that with IL-6. Because IL-18 has excellent correlation with EF and IL-6,it can become one of the predictors of cardiovascular events with IL-6 and EF.
