Constructing Urban Park with Site Characters——Landscape Design of Zhanqian Park, Yiwu

Recently, the process of urbanization is accelerating in China. It makes a big influence on the natural environment and ecosystem of the area around city. The author begins with the present status of city. The main misleading recognitions of new urban district construction are ignoring the good resources of sites, and only destroying and reconstructing. Turning the misleading recognitions needs deep comprehension of nature, correct understanding of site characters and the requirements of eco-city construction. Depend on these, landscape architects should understand the natural and cultural characters of site more deeply, and then take the constructed nature as the main body of landscape design. At last, how to construct an urban park with site characters in new urban areas is introduced by taking an example of Yiwu Zhanqian Park.
