Abstract

The three-dimensional structure of the leaf cuticle has been studied microscopically on cuticular preparations from a number of plants. The cuticle is one- to several-layered, the latter including, besides the epidermis, sub-epidermal layers such as hypodermis, palisade, and spongy mesophyll.
