Abstract

For extraction of thioglycolic acid(TGA),tributyl phosphate(TBP) was chosen as extractant and methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK) as diluent by comparision of several organic solvents.Using the mixed extractant(V(MIBK)∶V(TBP)=1∶9),extracting twice under ambient temperature with the volume ratio of organic layer to aqueous layer as 1∶2,the extraction percentage of TGA reached 98.31%.After the extraction, the impurities sulfuric acid and dithiodiglycolic acid(DTDGA) were washed out from the organic layer by w(NaOH)=20% water solution with n(NaOH)/n(DTDGA)=7.After washing,80.3 % of DTDGA and 100% of the sulfuric acid were removed from the organic layer. The loss of TGA was 2.6%,and in the organic layer m(impurities)/m(TGA)=0.007 3.
