Abstract

[Objective] The research aimed to discuss the effects of different planting density on spike characters of two spike-types of winter wheat cultivars. [Method] Taking Taishan 28,Zhongyu 9398 and Xinmai 26 as test materials, the effects of different planting densities on ear weight, spikelet number per spike, spikelet density, grain number per spike,thousand-grain weight and panicle length of two spike types of winter wheat cultivars were studied. [Result] There were significant differences of spike characters between two spike types of winter wheat cultivars. The single ear weight and grain number per spike of intermediate-type winter wheat cultivars were higher than that of multi-spike cultivars. And thousand-grain weight of intermediate-type winter wheat cultivars was higher. With the increasing of planting density, the grain number per spike and ear weight of winter wheat showed the decreasing trends. The effects of planting density on thousand-grain weight of winter wheat didn't reach significant level. Therefore,it was easy to increase the single ear weight of intermediate cultivars. [Conclusion]The research could provide technical support for the high-yield and breeding of winter wheat.
