Abstract

We surveyed the macrofauna diversity at 9 sampling stations of the Sanggou Bay during two cruises from July 2009 to December 2009.The species diversity was studied based on quantitative investigations of species composition, abundance and biomass. In analyzing the data, the Shannon-Wiener index, species evenness and species richness indices are used to study the distributional trends of community structure, the distributional trends of species assemblages and dominant species of macrobenthic fauna in Sanggou Bay.The results showed the following: A total of 83 species macrobenthic animals were obtained,of which 45 species were Polyehaeta,11 were Mollusca,23 were Crustaeea, and the rest 4 were other animal groups. The average number of species was about 2-28 per sample station, the lowest number,2 species, was found in Station C8 recorded in July 2009,the maximum number,28 species, was found in Station C4 recorded in Dec.2009.There was great difference of biodiversity indices between each aquicultural area, both the Shannon-Wiener indexand species richness index were highest in Bivalves cultural area. And the Shannon-Wiener index,Pielou evenness index, species richness index were lowest in Kelp cultural area. The number of species and its abundance have great effect on biodiversity, some environmental factors such as temperature, salinity, sediment grain size and sulfides have great effect on biodiversity, too.
