Abstract
Objective To analyze the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes of carotid arteriosclerosis (CA),by the way of path analysis. Methods 237 CA patients were researched, and their symptoms, tongues and pulses were recorded. Then path analysis way was used to analyze these patients’ TCM syndromes. Results Marrow deficiency was induced by phlegm stasis and blood stasis;qi deficiency was induced by marrow deficiency, phlegm stasis and blood stasis;phlegm stasis was induced by qi deficiency, blood stasis and qi stasis;blood stasis was induced by qi deficiency, phlegm stasis and qi stasis;qi stasis was induced by phlegm stasis and blood stasis. Conclusions In CA TCM syndromes, deficiency and hurt are two important factors. These two factors could influence each other, and show different syndromes. And the way of path analysis could help analyze the CA patients’ TCM syndromes.
