Abstract

Pot cultivation experiment was carried out to study genotypic differences of absorption and accumulation of Cd by pakchoi. The results showed that the vegetable plants had capability in accumulation of the metal in polluted soil. The results were summarized as follows: in four chosen varieties tested in the study,Cd content in the plants increased greatly with enhanced Cd treated levels;while Cd uptake was also increasing promptly.Cd was absorbed well by Pakchoi C,and the pakchoi C showed relatively fair tolerance against Cd stress.Relevance analysis showed that total Cd uptake was significantly positively correlative with DTPA-Cd.It has been indicated that the plants can decline the content of Cd in soil. However, there was a highly significant difference among pakchoi C and other plants,at the same time,it meant that removal rate of Cd by this plant was in the highest.
