Analysis of the cause of proximal migration of pancreatic stent after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and its implication

Abstract

Objectives To analyze the cause of proximal migration of pancreatic stent after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography( ERCP),aiming at exploring its prevention methods. Methods The whole treatment period of one rare case of proximal migration of pancreatic stent after ERCP was reviewed. Results Pancreatic stent migrated proximally after ERCP,and the migrated stent could be removed by using duodenal biopsy forceps. Conclusions Pancreatic stenting requires high technical skills, and choosing the right stent is crucial to the success of ERCP. Biopsy forceps can be used to remove the migrated pancreatic stent.
