Abstract

AIM: To investigate the changes of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL) in patients with diabetic nephropathy(DN) and its clinical significance.METHODS: 90 patients with T2DM and 30 healthy people were studied.90 patients of T2DM were divided into four groups according to 24-hour urinary albumi: A group,normal albuminuria group(24-hour uAlb30 mg);B group,microalbuminuria group(24-hour uAlb 30-300 mg);C group: macroalbuminuria group(24-hour uAlb300 mg).The serum NGAL,GFR,Scr and TG levels were detected.RESULTS: The serum NGAL level and GFR of the T2DM group was significantly lower than control group(P0.05),the TG and Scr level of the T2DM group was significantly higher than control group(P0.05);Serum NGAL,TG and GFR of A group B group C group,three groups were significantly different(P0.05);Serum Scr level of A group B groupC group,three groups were significantly difference(P0.05);Serum NGAL level and GFR,TG levels were positively correlated(r=0.612,0.4510;P0.05),serum NGAL level and Scr level was negatively correlated(r=-0.4120,P0.05).CONCLUSION: The serum NGAL level of T2DM nephropathy is significantly lower,and significantly correlate with kidney damage.The serum NGAL level could be used a reliability index to judgment DN.
