Abstract
Rapid prototyping(RP) is a new technology that can translate 3 CAD into casting mould. The principle and technology of the selective laser sintering(SLS) RP system is introduced. The application of SLS RP in product development, precision casting, sand casting, direct sintering metal powder are also discussed. Digital casting has many advantages such as fast speed, precision and cheaper cost over traditional methods.
