Abstract
Using GIS, TM images(dated during 1980-1990) are interpreted, the present situation and dynamic change of land use in the typical ecological investigation areas are analyzed at the lower reaches of Tarim river, The effects of land exploition at the lower reaches of Tarim river are compared and analyzed. It shows that the increasement of cultivated land and living space stem from reclaiming grassland and occupying desert diversiform-leaved poplar forest. The common effect, salinization desertification and secondary soil salinization controls the whole tendency of steady deterioration
