Landscape Ecological Classification of Tropical Coast of Dengloujiao, Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong Province

The coast landscape has higher productivity and biological diversity resulted from its fringe-effect. The tropical coast landscape in Dengloujiao is very typical because there is an exclusive coral reef developed in the mainland of China. With the classified method of landscape ecology, the tropical coast here is divided into 3 classes and 24 sub-classes: natural landscape, management landscape and man-made landscape. The rank of the landscape ecosystem, the landscape evolvement and space-time distribution of the studied area are revealed: the terrestrial landscape, coastal landscape and shallow sea landscape along the shore are ranged in turn from land to sea; but according to the timing of evolution of the regional natural landscape, the terrestrial landscape, shallow sea landscape along the shore and coastal landscape are ranged.
