Abstract
Taking the main bridge of Shengmi Bridge in Nanchang(a half-through concrete-filled steel tube tied arch bridge)as an example,this paper discusses some issues in relation to the manufacturing and corrosion protection of the steel tube arches of long span concrete-filled steel tube arch bridges,the construction methods of integral lifting and erection aided by large scaffolding for the steel tube arch ribs,the welding of the arch ribs,the mix proportioning and field casting of concrete into the arch ribs and the matters of attention in the construction process of coating protection for the steel tubes and consequently,the paper gives the key points of quality control of such type of the bridges at various construction stages.
