Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of CT guided percutaneous injection of ethanol in treatment of abdominal cysts. Methods CT guided percutaneous puncture was performed in 45 patients with abdominal cysts, which included 24 hepatic cysts, 18 renal cysts and 3 pancreatic pseudocysts. The content of the cysts was withdrawn at first and ethanol was injected then. Follow-up CT or/and US examinations were carried to observed the effect. Results The cure rate, excellence rate and effective rate was 78% (36/45), 20%(9/45) and 100% (45/45), respectively. No side effect was observed. Conclusions CT guided percutaneous injection of ethanol is an efficient, safe and simply method in management of abdominal cysts.
