Abstract

The relationships of the static and dynamic cushioning characteristics of honeycomb paperboard with honeycomb core and aperture were studied with static and dynamic compression tests. The cushioning coefficient-strain curves were calculated with stress-strain curves of the static compression tests. The cushioning coefficient-static stress curves were calculated with the maximal acceleration-time curves of the dynamic compression tests. The purpose was to provide reference for size design of honeycomb paperboard for cushioning packaging.
