Abstract
The paper presents a new method for predicting the hydrodynamic performance of thereaction rudder behind a propeller. The hydrodynamics of the rudder is calculated by thepanel method and the performance of the propeller is predicted by the simple propeller theory. The interaction between the rudder and the propeller is determined by iterative procedure. The pressure distribution on rudder surface and the hydrodynamic performance ofthe reaction rudder are discussed in the paper.
