EFFECTS OF CHICKEN BREEDS AND FEED NUTRITIVE LEVELS ON THE PARAMETERS OF GOMPERTZ GROWTH MODEL

Five chicken breeds fed on six different feeds were weighted every week from 0 to 12 weeks. Growth parameters of Gompertz model and effects of feed and breed on growth and heredity of growth parameters were estimated. The results were as follows: Effects of breed, sex and energy, protein, content on adult body weight were very significant; Effects of breed, sex and energy on birth body weight were also very significant. Effects of breed and sex on parameter of mean growth rate were very significant, and effect of energy level was significant. There were differences among heredity of different breeds; adult body weight was of middle heredity but for recessive white chickens was low; birth body weight of Xianju and Gushi was of middle heredity but for recessive white chickens was high; and the hereterbility of parameter of mean growth rate was 0.19～0.42.
