Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of heat shock protein 10(HSP10) and its possible role in the rat anterior cortex and hippocampus following cerebral ischemia reperfusion(IR). Methods Cerebral IR models in the rats were established by clamping both common carotids. The changes of HSP10 expression in anterior cortex and hippocampus in model group and control group were detected by Immunohistochemistry. Results Expression of HSP10 was observed both in the rat anterior cortex and hippocampus following cerebral IR.Expression of HSP10 was significantly increased at 6 h and came to the highest level at the 3rd day following IR.There was still very high positive expression of HSP10 in the rat anterior cortex and hippocampus even at the 7th day following IR. Conclusions Expression of HSP10 is increased in the rat anterior cortex and hippocampus following cerebral IR,which may be a protective reaction to IR injury.
