Abstract

A monolithic polymer was prepared by in-situ photopolymerization, using methacrylic acid(MAA) as a functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EDMA) as a cross-linking agent, toluene and isooctane as porogenic solvents and Irgacure 1800 as an initiator. The effects of the content of acetonitrile,pH values, and salt concentration of buffers on electroosmotic flow(EOF) were investigated. The results showed that baseline separation of some neutral compounds was achieved on this monolithic column in the modes of pressure-driven capillary electrochromatography(p-CEC),capillary electrochromatography(CEC) and low-pressure driven(LPLC).Meanwhile, some acidic or basic compounds can be separated on this monolithic column under relatively mild conditions.
