Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of synovitis-acne-pustulosis-hyperostosis-osteitis syndrome(SAPHO) and to improve the understanding of SAPHO syndrome. Methods:Relative data on 5 cases of SAPHO were analysized and summarized. Results:The clinical manifestations were different degree changes of skin, bones and joints. The main pathological changes were seen in anterior chest wall, sternoclavicular joint and spine. The positive rates of X ray were 80%(4/5)and 100%(3/3) of CT on positions such as anterior chest wall and sternoclavicular joints. There were positive changes on CT and MRI of the spine. Conclusion:It is easy to misdiagnose SAPHO syndrome in clinics and it is necessary to develop imaging examinations. It is possible to reduce clinical symptoms and slow the progress through early treatment.
