Abstract

This paper was completed on the basis of results of investigations and reports concerning nodulation of leguminous trees in China. It is estimated that there exists 763 species and 94 genera of leguminous trees and shrubs in China. A survey was carried out on the nodulation status of 123 species of Mimosoideae including native species and exotic species, which have recently been introduced to China, and 211 species of Papilionoideae and 70 species of Caesalpinioideae. Among them, 116 species of Mimosoideae, 207 species of Papilionoideae and 18 species of Caesalpinioideae are nodulated. Two species of Mimosoideae and 3 species of Papilionoideae are reported to be nodulated and non-nodulated.
