Abstract
The influence of temperature on chemical wastewater treatment by two-phase anaerobic digestion process was investigated. The pilot-scale experiment results show that temperature has a great influence on methanogenesis process.COD removal efficiency remains stable when the temperature is higher than 20 ℃,COD removal rate precipitously declines when the temperature is below 20 ℃.Methanogenesis function is lost when the temperature is equal to or less than 5 ℃ and products of acidogenesis are accumulated in methanogenesis stage with a decline of pH.Although temperature has a little influence on COD removal efficiency in acidogenesis, acidogenesis function is lost because microbial activity is greatly inhibited when the temperature drops to 0 ℃ or so.
