Abstract
Typhoon disaster usually is brought by typhoon rainstorm, the study of typhoon rainstorm helps to improve the forecasting of Typhoon-associated weather. During the past 10 years and more, much improvement has been achieved in long-range typhoon rainstorm, theory for formation of spirial bands, effect of typhoon system on rainfall in mid-latitude area, distribution of typhoon rainstorm, effect of the surface character on typhoon rainstorm and sudden intensification of typhoon rainstorm etc. We summarize these developments briefly and discuss some existing issues.
