Plant glucosinolate-myrosinase substrate-enzyme system

Glucosinolate-myrosinase system is a specific substrate-enzyme system in Brassicaceae family.In plant cell,glucosinolates occur in vacuole,while,myrosinase dispenses in matrix of myrosin cell in the form of myrosinase grains.Myrosinase usually forms functional complex with myrosinase-binding protein and myrosinase-associated protein to digest glucosinolates in vivo.When the plant tissue was damaged,glucosinolate and myrosinase directly bonded together and broke glucosinolates down into toxic chemicals,such as isothiocyanante,nitrile,which protected themseves from further eating by herbivores.
