Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the gr owth , development and function of rat'sovarian tissue heterotopically allotrans planted to castrated female adult rats Methods: Adults SD rats' o varies were transplanted to subcapsule of kidney of castrated adult female rats The recovery and maintaining time of the oestrous cycle were carefully observed Then the histological and histochemical methods were used to study the growth of the grafts The endocrine function of transplanted ovaries was determined by m easuring serum E 2 Results: The oestrus cycle emerged on 13 55 ± 2 81 days after ovary tissue transplantation A lot of follicles at different developing stages and interstitial glands could be seen under microscope The histochemical staining of 3-HSDH showed positive at different level The result of serology showed t h at the endocrine function of ovaries approximately reached the levels of normal ovaries Conclusions: The study indicates that rat 's ovary tissue after heterotopical allotransplantation can grow and secrete femal e hormone
