Relative analysis of type II diabetes ultrasonic screening results and ischemic stroke

Objective To evaluate the relationship between ultrasonic detection results of carotid artery plaques and ischemic stroke in type Ⅱ diabetes.Methods The cerebral infarction or transient ischemic patients were divided into two groups base on whether they were suffering Type Ⅱ diabetes,112 cases were in test group and 96 cases were in control group.The intima media thickness,with or without plaques(size,location),the formation,the plaques echo type and number were tested in carotid artery,carotid bulb and internal carotid artery with ultrasound.And whether there was atheroscleroses,the location,the number and the level of atheroscleroses were also evaluated.Results No difference was detected in comparing the test group of test and control groups on carotid artery IMT thickness,carotid artery and carotid bulb plaques incidence rate,but statistically difference was showed in extracranial internal carotid artery of plaques incidence rate and plaques formation comparison(P 0.05).66 cases atherosclerosis involved the carotid artery in test group and 20 cases in control group.No difference was found in common carotid artery,carotid artery bulb atherosclerosis involved vascular,but significant difference was detected in internal carotid artery comparison of two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion The risk of ischemic stroke is relative to carotid artery plaques echo,formation, location and whether involved inter carotid artery atherosclerosis.The ultrasound of carotid artery screening is a useful way to detect the plaques quickly and precisely.
