Abstract
Objective To evaluate the surgical technique and effect of microsurgery for acoustic neuromas.Methods The clinical date of 22 patients with acoustic neuromas treated via suboccipital retrosigmoidal approach from June 2006 to June 2012 in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively.Results 17 cases of acoustic neuromas were resected totally.5 cases were resected subtotally.Facial never was preserved in 21 cases anatomically and in 17 cases functionally.No surgical death was reported.Postoperative cerebrospinal fluid leakage occurred in 1 case and postoperative bleeding 1 case.Conclusion Microsurgery via suboccipital retrosignoid approach can get high rate of total acoustic neuromas removal and preservation of facial nerve.
