Abstract
Nanometer sized lanthanum oxide was synthesized at room temperature by humid solid state reaction The particles were characterized by scanning electron microscope and X ray diffraction The effect of nanometer sized lanthanum oxide on catalyzing thermal decomposition reaction of Cyclotrimethylenetriamine(RDX) was studied by DSC The experimental results show that nanometer sized lanthanum oxide can catalyze the decomposition reaction of RDX effectively The mechanism of this catalytic reaction was proposed
