Abstract
Objective To examine the efficacy of 0.125% ropivacaine combined with fentanyl on labor pain relief. Methods 40 ASA Ⅰ~Ⅱ full-term primiparas who requested epidural were chose. When the cervical dilation was about 2~3 cm,they received 5~10 mL mixed liquor of 0.125% ropivacaine and 1 μg/mL fentanyl, then they were intermittently given a boost according to the effect and the progress of labor. The pain score, motor nerve block score, birth process, labor way, postpartum hemorrhage and newborn Apgar score of the two groups were recorded. Results The epidural had no significant effect on vital signs of the parturients and newborns. The pain was significantly relieved with no motor nerve block and low rate of cesarean section. Conclusion 0.125% ropivacaine combined with low dose of fentanyl is an ideal ambulatory epidural analgesia method.
