Abstract

One-day old chicken(n=120) were randomly divided into 2 groups(n=60 in each group),to investigate the pathogenesis of anemia in chicken with selenium deficiency. The chicken in the first group, the experimental group, were fed with selenium-deficiency diet(selenium 0.014 mg·kg~(-1));The ones in the second group, the control group, were fed with the basal diet(selenium 0.375 mg·kg~(-1)),which fed and drank freely.1 mL of blood sample from heart(n=10 in each group) were collected at day10,20,30 and 40 after feeding and serum separated with centrifuge. The contents of cytokines and thyroid gland hormone in serum were determined by the method of RIA.The results showed that the content of T-3,FT-3,IL-1 and EPO in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P0.01)and the content of TNF,T-4 and FT-4 was significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.01).It can be concluded that the chicken with selenium deficiency showed three kinds of anemia.
