Abstract

Objective:To test the type of collagen sponge and its hemostatic properties. Methods:Collagen sponge was obtained from soluble collagen by lyophilization. SDS_PAGE and bleeding wounds of animals were utilized. Results:Collagen sponge was composed of typeⅠcollagen. It promoted the healing of bleeding wounds and had excellent hemostatic properties. Conclusions:Collagen sponge can be used as hemostatic or tampon in surgery.
