Abstract
This paper studies megasporogenesis microsporogenesis and the development of female and male gametophyte of S. pennata (Trin.) de Winter by means of paraffin wax. Them ain results are as follows:(1)The wall of anther consist s of three layers:epidermis, endothecium and tapetum from out to in side. Tapetum cell is of secretory type.(2)Cytok inesis of microsporocyte meiotic division is of successive type.(3)Mature pollen grain is of 3-celled type.(4)There are one ovary and one ovule. The ovule is double in teguments, tenuinucellate and anatropous. Megasporocyte meiotic divides into four megaspores in line type or T-type. The megaspore near chalazae is the functional one. (5)Embryosac is of Polygonum type.Antipodal cells amitotic divide to many cells in mature embryosac.
