Abstract
Objective:To examine the bone mineral density(BMD) of people in Xi'an area and get the incidence of osteopenia and osteoporosis. Methods: The BMD of calcaneus was measured with SXA-3000(USA) Osteoanalyzel.522 people living in XI` an were included, aged 23-76.All data were statistically analyzed and compared. Results: The peak value of BMD appeared in 21-31.BMD decreased with the increase of age.The bone loss became sharp in female over 50 and in male over 60(P0.01).There was no significant difference among different groups younger than 60(P0.05).However,it's higher in men than in woman when the age was older than 60.The incidence of serious osteoporosis was significantly higher in women than in men when their age was over 60(P0.01).Conclusion: Osteoporosis was highly related to the age and sex.The male and female youth should periodically examine their bone mineral density in order to prevent osteoporosis.
