Abstract

The active period of Megachile(Chalicodoma) desertorum Morawitz is coherent with the blooming of many plants in West Erdos Region,and it is a very important pollinator for hungrinaness plants(including some plants in danger).In this paper we report morpha not including adult,life history and biological characteristics of M.(Chalicodoma) desertorum.This kind of bee takes place one generation in one year in West Erdos Region.It hibernates in state of diapause adult,and start appears in mid April of the next year.The male appears 9 days earlier than the female,dies soon after mating,its life-span is about 20 days,the female's life-span about 35 days.The eggstage is about 12 days,larva begin to callus in mid June,in the end of July starts to pupate.The larval stage is about 85days,and pupal period is about 18 days.The adult's eclosion in mid August,and enter diapause state.Adult hibernate in the cell,and the diapause stage is as long as about 235 days.
