A Study of the Life and Literature Creation of Poet and Monk Laifu Jianxin

Laifu is a famous monk at the end of Yuan Dynasty and beginning of Ming Dynasty. His literary works is Puan Poetry and Danyou Poetry,both of which have a high evaluation. However,the accounts of him in history have a lot of mistakes. From Lang Ying,a Ming Dynasty's scholar,to Qing Dynasty,there are a variety of controveries. One of them is that he was an officer in Yuan Dynasty and became a monk in the Ming Dynasty. Because he wrote poem to satirize the emperor,he was killed by Zhu Yuanzhang,the first ruler of Ming Dynasty. By examining documents,we can find that it is inadequate. Laifu came from Jiangxi province and became a monk as he was a boy. He was killed because he was involved in the rebelious case of Hu Weiyong.
