Abstract

There are three types of gold deposits in Jiaodong region, in which the strata-bound altered conglomerate gold deposit is a new type. It has been discovered on the northeastern margin of Jiaolai basin. The Songjiagou gold deposit is the representative one. It is hosted in a detached fault in the conglomerate of Early Cretaceous Laiyang Formation before Yanshanian volcanism, concerning with mixing of meteoric water and magmatic water. Comparative study shows that the Songjiagou gold deposit is different from not only the traditional conglomerate gold deposit, but also Jiaojia-type or Linglong-type gold deposit in Jiaodong Block. It is similar to the Witwatersland gold deposit in South Africa. This type of gold deposit has exploration potentiality in our country. WT6HZ]
