Application of PICC catheter in elderly patients parenteral nutrition

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the application of PICC catheter in elderly patients parenteral nutrition.Methods:110 cases were divised into 2 groups,59 patients received PICC catheter,51 patients received femoral vein catheter,comparing the two groups of puncture success ratio and complications.Results:The puncture success rate of catheter PICC obviously above of femoral vein catheter(P0.05),and complications of bleed,straying artery,catheter falls off,and infection were significantly lower than of femoral vein catheter.Conclusion:In elderly patients parenteral nutrition applications,PICC catheter can safely and effectively substitute of femoral vein catheter.
