Abstract
AIM and METHOD:The rabbits model was induced by injecting E Coli endotoxin twice at 24 hours interval and acute lung injury was examined RESULTS:Interleukin-8(IL-8) nitrite/nitrate (NO 2 -/NO 3 -) levels in plasma, lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) increased markedly ( P 0 01) in model group, and C5a activity of plasma alsao increased markedly ( P 0 05) WBC in BALF,lung index, and lung permeability index (LPI) also increased significantly ( P 0 01) There was existed highly positive correlation between IL-8 and NO 2 -/NO 3 -,and between the change of acid phosphatase (ACP) activity in BALF and IL-8 or NO 2 -/NO 3 - respectively CONCLUSION: IL-8, NO mediates endotoxin-induced acute lung injury, and Il-8 might be an important mediator in lung injury .
