Abstract
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is an excellent light filled material. It has been widely used in foreign countries. As practice proved, EPS are charactered with good heat-insulation, light self-weight, strong independence. Meanwhile, EPS has good performance in processing some diseases of pavement, such as roadbed freeze, bumping at bridge-head, unsteady of roadbed, joining of old and new roadbed, and so on. However, the constructing of embankment with EPS is not long time yet in our country, deep and general knowledge for EPS is still deficient, and many problems need be solved.
