Onlay preputial island flap urethroplasty in treatment of hypospadias: a report of 52 cases

objective To explore the clinical efficacy of onlay preputial island flap urethroplasty in treatment of hypospadias.Methods All of 52 cases with hypospadias received onlay preputial island flap urethroplasty,6 cases were of coronal hypospadias,41 cases were of penile type,the 5 cases were of penoscrotal type.The number F8 ～ F10 of silica gel were used as support in the treatment,and the urinary drainage tube was pulled out 8 ～ 10 d after operation.Results All patients were followed up for 6 months to 2 years,37 cases were successfully treated,and the successful rate was 71.2%.Sixteen cases supervened with urinary fistula,no urethral stricture and urethral diverticulum occurred.Patients with urinary fistula were repaired for 6 months and cured.The appearance of penis was normal,and the urine flow rate was no statistical difference(P 0.05).Conclusion Onlay preputial island flap urethroplasty has good effect in treatment of hypospadias,which makes the appearance of penis beautiful,especially for the mild and moderate chordee of penis.
