Study on Mold Powder for Medium Carbon Steel in Wide Slab Mold

Abstract

There were some problems of sculls and strikealarm in mold for wide slab casting in Nan Steel,which influence on continuous casting process.According to analyzing of the two problems,the composition of the mold flux was adjusted.It is shown that the new mold powder XCN-Z is able to meet the demand of wide slab casting and the surface quality of slab gets better.
