Abstract

The paper summarizes briefly the studies,since 1960,about the engineering characteristics,railway construction technique and disaster treatment of loess centering on the effect of loess on railway engineering construction.It firstly puts forward the two-class classification of era origin combining with engineering and carries out the studies on the developing of loess subsidence,the bearing capacity of foundation,the in-situ test for determining the bearing capacity and deformation parameters of loess.It also puts forward the table of design parameters for cut slope of loess,the technical standard of embankment construction,and the force- subject mode,failure type and design principle of single and double line tunnel of loess based on the above studies.The pounding extruded lime-soil pile with silicon injection,the construction technology and quality testing technique are developed through the studies of the collapsibility and foundation treatment of loess.It can be referenced for the railway construction and construction of present passenger dedicated railway line.
